Ada Irene Rowland, 89, of Etowah, died Friday, May 28, 2010 at Woods Memorial Hospital. A native of Greenville and resident of Etowah all her life, she was a daughter of the late William and Ella Fay Harvey Arrowood. She was a member of Coghill Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Chandes Henry "C.H." Rowland; and a sister, Dorthy Southerland. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Gearaldean and Joe Dockery of the Coghill community; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Don and Jeanetta Rowland of the Coghill community, and David Rowland of Sweetwater; one brother and sister-in-law, Ellis and Dot Arrowood of Soddy Daisy; grandchildren and spouses, Jeff and Kim Dockery of Etowah, Steve Dockery of Etowah, Will and Crystal Hatcher of Benton, Donnie and Heather Rowland of Sarasota, Fla., and John David and Chenille Rowland of Etowah; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in the South Chapel with the Rev. Joe Hatcher and the Rev. Ray Ingram officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
Family and friends will assemble at Jones Chapel Cemetery at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2nd for the committal service.
