Adele H. Lattimore, 92, of Etowah, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Star Regional Medical Center of Athens.
Adele Lattimore was a lifelong resident of Etowah and graduate of Etowah High School. She retired from the City of Etowah as Secretary to the Mayor and City Manager. She also served the city in several other capacities throughout her career as city recorder and interim City Manager.
She was an active member of Etowah First Presbyterian Church where she served on many committees and boards. She will continue to be remembered by her many meticulous works of needlepoint depicting Christian symbols of the Presbyterian Church that continue to adorn the walls of the sanctuary.
She is preceded in death by her parents Fred Harper, Sr. and Dovie Rae Watkins Harper, her brothers Fred Harper, Jr. and Robert Harper, and her loving husband Samuel Browder Lattimore.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Don Cheek; grandchildren, William David Cheek and Elizabeth Cheek Rose; and great grandchildren Samuel Browder Rose and Sarah Elizabeth Rose.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 19th at Madisonville Cemetery with Layspeaker Dennis Bordwine officiating.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Wellington Place Assisted Living, Etowah Healthcare, and personal care-givers for their loving care and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Adele's name to First Presbyterian Church, 581 Hillcrest Circle, Etowah, TN, 37331.
