Alice Jane Womac Schenk, 88, of Grayson,GA, formerly of Etowah, TN passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, GA. She was a native of Riceville, TN and a longtime resident of McMinn County.

She was a daughter of the late William Edward and Mary Ada Moses Womac. She was a Home Economics Teacher at Etowah High School and had been retired for many years. She was a member of LilburnChristian Church in Lilburn, GA and of the First Christian Church in Etowah, TN. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Thomas Schenk; parents, listed above; three brothers, Dock, Alex and Jim Womac; and one sister, Ethel Womac.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Frank Umberger of Grayson; three grandchildren, Christian, Schyler and Max Umberger and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m.,Thursday, October 13, 2011 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Louis Rouse, Minister Tony Dryer and Brother Bob Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Committal service to follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
