Amalia Castillo Mercado, 60 of Etowah, TN passed away Thursday April 13, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare Center. She was a daughter of the late Pedro and Maria Delgadillo Mercado.

Preceded in death her parents; step-mother, Encarnacion Mercado; twin infant sisters, Alicia and Josefina Mercado; brother, Margarito Mercado.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Alvaro Castillo; sons and daughters-in-law, Nazario and Nalley Castillo, Freddy and Ana Castillo, Loui and Susan Castillo, Edgar Castillo; daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Juan Cortez; grandchildren, Isabella Castillo, Antulio Castillo, Christian Ratledge, Skylar Ratledge, Tristian Castillo, Emmanuel Castillo, Chris Angel Castillo, Juliana Castillo, Joli Castillo, Sneider Castillo, Tyler Williams, Jazmin Castillo, Jayda Castillo, Elio Castillo, Emma Castillo, Risa Castillo, Axel Cortez and Amaida Cortez; great-grandchild, Nevaeh Castillo; siblings, Pedro Mercado, Jesus Mereado, Elisandro Mercado, Juan Mercado, Alejandro Mercado, Luz Maria Mercado, Gloribel Mercado and Yara Mercado; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Carlos Mauricio officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.

In Lieu of Flowers the family requests contributions are made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1291 E. Madison Ave., Athens, TN 37303.
