Austin Steve "Deacon" Shadden, 86, of Etowah passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019. Son of the late William Steve and Gladys Lee Shadden. He was retired as a truck driver for Shaw Industries of Dalton, GA at the age of 75; he was of the Christian Faith.
Preceded in death by his twin brother, Alfred Shadden; and sister, Dorothy "Dot" Wilson; mother-in-law, Marie McDonald.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Louise Shadden; daughters, Jennifer Menchaca, Jenay (Steve) Wolfe, Melissa (Scott Rice) Tullock, Susan (Loui) Castillo; son, Steve Shadden; grandchildren, Matthew Bain, Laura (Ethan) Starr, Nicholas Tullock, Tyler (Breanna) Williams, Jazmin and Jayda Castillo, Isaiah Shadden; great-granddaughter, Abby Sullivan; father-in-law, JD McDonald; a nephew, several nieces and other extended family; special friend, Dennis Bordwine; and his beloved dog, Copper.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2019 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Johnson and Dennis Bordwine officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Interment will follow service to McMinn Memory Gardens.
Nicholas Tullock, Isaiah Shadden, Tyler Williams, Ethan Starr, Scott Rice, Aaron Cole, Durant Tullock and Matthew Bain will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Loui Castillo, Steve Wolfe and Steve White.
