Barbara Jo DeMarco., 72, of Etowah, TN, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2011 at her residence.Barbara was born on September 13, 1939, to the late Julian Leonard and Alta May Hackett, she came to Tennessee 17 Years ago to be with her family. She loved the Lord and was baptized at the early age of 13, a faithful member of Harwell Chapel A.M.E. Zion. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Earnest DeMarco; parents, Julian Leonard and Alta May Hackett; Sons, Gary Allen DeMarco and Mark Kevin DeMarco; brothers, Jack and Donald Hackett.Barbara traveled a lot during her life, she traveled to Oregon where she met and lived with Elvis Presley's Drummers wife, she worked in a restaurant called original Joes, where they put her Meat loaf recipe on their menu. Survivors include 1 son, Raymond Fisher DeMarco of New York; 1 daughter, Bobby Sue Burnette of Etowah; 7 grandchildren, Carley Johnson, Mark Allen DeMarco, Anthony, Joey and Matthew DeMarco, Alissya Harper and Christopher; 2 great-grandchildren; Special friends, Edith Deed, Wanda Robinson, Linda Benton, Sharon Scudder, Kennetha Smith, William Thompson, Jessica Harper, Tony Harper, Tonya Copen and Rodney Moore.Memorial graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2011, at Woodland Cemetery where she will lay to rest with Rev. Katherine Yansay and Rev. Francis Pierce officiating. No formal visitation.
