Barbara Jean Nix, 70, of Delano, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. A daughter of the late Alonzo and Leona Doyle, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Harris. She was a lover of life, family and animals. She is now our angel in Heaven. Survivors include her loving husband, Roy Nix of Knoxville; one sister and brother-in-law, Lona-Sue and Bud Gaylon of Knoxville; three daughters and one son-in-law, Kim Nivens of Benton, and Pam and Joe Hall and Tammy Harris, all of Etowah; one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Katie Nix of Benton; grandchildren, Dustin and Corey Moser, April Garland and her husband, Johnathan, Josh Harris and Brianna Nix; one great-grandchild, Peyton Garland; and one nephew and two nieces, Tony Lawson, Robin Evans and Linda Kay Thompson. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Sunday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Curtis officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday in Center Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Tellico Plains. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
