Barbara Juanita Sneed Dotson, 84, of Athens, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014, at her residence in Athens, TN.

She was a resident of Athens and a former resident of Cleveland, TN for over sixty years. She retained her membership at Delano Baptist Church as a direct descendant of founding members. She was a daughter of the late Allen Webster Sneed, Sr. and Annie Estelle Eaves Sneed and is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William Gale Dotson; parents, listed above; step-son, William Hayden Dotson; Sisters, Ernestine Walker and Mildred Sanders; brother, Marion William Sneed; and an infant brother.

Her survivors include, daughter, Anita Lynn Dotson of Athens, TN brother, Allen "Bud" Webster Sneed of Delano, TN and numerous devoted nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2014 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Jordan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m., at Delano Cemetery, Friday, January 31, 2014 for the committal service. Fred Walker, Patrick Sneed, Jeffrey Sneed, Cody Sneed, Glenn Ellis, and Hank Ahlfeld will serve as pallbearers. John M. Dotson, Jack Colson, Steve Newman, Jim Breeden, Kirk Deweese, Steve Arehart, Michael Arehart, Mark Beaty, Largent Sneed, Trey Walker, and Noah Beaty will serve as honorary pallbearers.
