Berta Rae Marshall, 77, of Englewood, passed away, Saturday, February 7, 2015 at her residence. She was a member of Dixon Avenue Baptist Church and retired from the cafeteria staff at Englewood Elementary School after 30 years of service. A daughter of the late Harlos and Ruby Saffles, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Marshall and her parents, listed above. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Nancy Marshall; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Heath Harper; four grandson, Bo and Luke Marshall and Matthew and Peyton Harper; sister, Diddie Torbett and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2015 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Watson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Sunrise Cemetery Tuesday, February 10, 2015 for the 11:00 a.m., committal service. Jackie Turpin, Todd Thomasson, Dinky Torbett, Jimmy McDaniel, Luke Marshall, Matthew Harper, Bo Marshall, and Peyton Harper will serve as pallbearers.In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to The American Cancer Society C/O Faye Forgety, 120 Co Rd 447 Athens, TN 37303.
