Bessie Lou Parrott Grant Raper, 79, of Etowah passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Etowah Health Care Center.

She was a native of McMinn County and daughter of the late Roy Clyde and Mae Gertrude Parrott and was a volunteer at EHC for over 9 years. Proceded in death by her husbands, Curtis Grant and Raymond Raper; brother, Clyde Parrott; sister, Emmer King; and special nephew, Danny Parrott.

Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Georgean Grant of Phoenix, AZ, Mike and Brenda Grant of Cleveland, TN; 3 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Elizabeth and Wayne Cardin of Riceville, TN, Eva Sloan and partner Donnie Webb of Delano, TN and Shirley Horn of Etowah, TN; Twin sister and brother-in-law, Essie and Jack Sams of Melrose, FL; 1 brother and sister-in-law, James and Jan Parrott of Mesa, AZ; Grandchildren, Jason and Amanda Horn of Maryville, TN, Richard and Tiffany Cardin of Athens, TN, Jacky and Wendy Cook of Riceville, TN, Angie and Terry Chandler of Athens, TN, Jennifer Daugherty of Athens, TN, Corina and Harry Bowls of Phoenix, AZ, Curtis Grant of Phoenix, AZ, Brian Grant of Cleveland, TN, Jeff Grant of Cleveland, TN, Allen and Kathy Cardin of Riceville, TN, Dewayne Cardin of Riceville, TN; Great-grandchildren: Caleb and Jared Horn of Maryville, TN, Austin, Dylan, Koby and Henry Cook of Riceville, TN, Lauren and Carson Black of Athens, TN, Morgan and Miami Chandler of Athens, TN Austin and Andy Cardin of Riceville, TN; Special nephews and nieces, Jeff and Cliff Sams, Rebecca Parrott and Margie Wallace; Great-nephew, Kyle Sams; several other nephews and nieces.

Graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2014 in Green Hill Cemetery with Floyd Boggess officiating

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, January 31st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Jacky Cook, Richard Cardin, Tony Cardin, James Parrott, Allen Cardin and Dewayne Cardin will serve as pallbearers. Donnie Webb, Jason Horn, Andy Cardin and Austin Cardin will serve as honorary pallbearers.
