Betty Stephens Fowler, 79, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022 at SMC-Mary Black Campus. Born August 5, 1942 in Chattanooga, TN, she was the daughter of the late Foster and Ruby Jacks Stephens.

Betty earned her bachelor's from University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She taught Chemistry and Physics in high schools in Tennessee and Florida. After retiring from teaching, she worked in retail management in Florida. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Frank Thomas Fowler of the home; sons, Thomas C. Fowler of Charleston, SC and Howard F. Fowler of Winter Park, FL; grandchildren, Foster Fowler, Jackson T. Fowler, and Carolyn Christine Fowler; and her brother, James Stephens of Charlotte, NC; along with seven nieces and nephews.

****A former resident of Etowah, her husband, Mr. Frank Fowler's family is buried in Green Hill Cemetery and would like the obituary to reflect this information. ****

A Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 28, 2022 in Green Hill Cemetery, 1820 US-411, Etowah, TN 37331. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
