Betty Freeman, of Etowah, born August 6, 1930, passed away November 20, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Royce "RK" Freeman; son, Roger Freeman; and parents, Leonard and Roxie Truelove. Born in McMinn County, she lived in Michigan for 25 years before moving back to McMinn. Betty and her husband ran the "Easy Pawn" pawn shop for many years.
Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Bill Freeman; her four brothers, Virgil, Vernon Dewey Wayne and Reed "RC" Truelove; one sister, Mary Frances Fijal; and four grandchildren, Matt, Amanda, Justin and Kevin; as well as nine great-grandchildren. Betty was an active member for 35 years of the Presbyterian Church; she attended Mars Hill Presbyterian Church in Athens.
Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, November 24 th in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Dr. Crawford A. King III officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., Saturday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Sunday November 25 th at the funeral home and proceed to Green Hill Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
