Betty Sprinkle Hood, 77 of Etowah passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at her residence. A native of Asheville, NC and resident of Etowah for the past 56 years, a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late R.C. Sr. and Jessie Johnson Sprinkle. Preceded in death by her husband, Howard K. Hood; parents, listed above; 2 daughters, Rebecca and Sandy; 1 grandson, Jason. Survivors include 1 daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Herbert Martin; 2 granddaughters, Camille Cassada and Crystal Griffith; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Jim Brittain; 2 brothers and sister-in-law, R.C. Sprinkle Jr. and Jimmy and Donna Sprinkle; a very special nephew, Todd Gochenour, and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks and deep appreciation to Avalon Hospice, especially Kathy and Sally. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 27, 2011 in the North Chapel, Bordwine Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at the funeral home.
