Betty S. Torbett, 67, of Athens, TN passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Park West Medical Center, Knoxville. She was a native of McMinn County and the daughter of the late Jess McElroy and Elizabeth Yarber McElroy of Sweetwater. A member of First Church of God and employed at Thomas & Betts.

Survivors include her husband, Stanley Torbett of Athens, TN; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Don Morrow of Cleveland, TN, Kim and Sammy Duncan of Englewood, TN; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, David McElroy of Niota, TN; sister, Margaret Patterson of Sweetwater, TN; 2 nephews, John McElroy of Sweetwater, TN and Travis Patterson of Sweetwater, TN.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, October 18, 2014 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Cummins officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Saturday prior to the service. Committal service will follow the funeral to McMinn Memory Gardens.
