Obituary

Billy H. Derrick, 82, of Englewood, died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Woods Memorial Hospital. A native of McMinn County and a lifelong resident of Englewood, he was a member of Englewood Christian Church, where he served as an elder and deacon. He was active in the Community Action Group of Englewood (C.A.G.E.) and was an avid fisherman and hunter. A son of the late Ethel Derrick and Harve Cochran, he was preceded in death by one sister, Blanche Raper; one nephew, Jimmy Raper; two nieces, Shirley and Martha Raper; and one special great-great-nephew, Jacob Buckner. Survivors include one niece and her husband, Muriel and Raymond Roach of Englewood; five great-nieces and their husbands, Patti and Mike Kellar, Sherry and Wayne Marler, Lisa Roach, Katy and Michael Buckner and Kristi Dills; two great-nephews and one spouse, Billy and Denise Roach and Travis Raper; three sisters, Maggie Hoffman of Englewood, Dorothy Jones of Georgia, and Olive Rose of Chattanooga; three great-great-nieces; seven great-great-nephews; and one great-great-great-nephew. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Saturday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Minister David Caffee and Minister Ron Blevins officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Sunrise Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
