Billy "Bill" Guffey, 68, of Athens, TN, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 15 ^th , 2020. Bill was a kind and soft-spoken man. Even though Bill was a man of few words, he had a heart full of love and kindness. He was a man of faith and dependability and loved his family infinitely. Bill was a member of Goodsprings Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his parents, William and Maude.

Survivors include his loving wife, Brenda Duncan Guffey of Athens, TN; daughters, Brandi Guffey of Athens, TN, Somer Guffey of Athens, TN, and Heather Underwood (Chris) of Chickamauga, GA; sons, Shaun Guffey of Azerbaijan and Mark Guffey (Heather) of Chickamauga, GA; grandchildren, Hannah, Blake, Eathen, Haley, and Makinlynn Guffey all of Chickamauga, GA, and Trace and Bailey Underwood of Chickamauga, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Carol (Tony) Mulkey and Reba James; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; many in-laws that considered Bill a brother.

Bill enjoyed all things sports. He loved to play softball and coach soccer. He was super fan of the Florida Gators. He loved to watch wrestling with his daughter Brandi and also loved watch his grandchildren play baseball.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 18 ^th , 2020 at Old Salem Cemetery with Pastor David Lones Officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
