Billy R. Weber, 82 of Athens, TN, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016, at UT Medical Center. After graduating from Etowah High School in 1952, he enlisted into the Air Force and served from 1952 - 1956. Billy was a lifetime member of BPOE of Athens and the VFW of Athens. He retired from Bowater in March of 1994. He was the son of the late Jewel and Lena (Adams) Weber. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, listed above; wife, Judy Snyder Weber, daughter, Angela Weber Young and a brother, Woody Weber.

Billy was an avid football fan that loved all the different teams. His most memorable moment was when he scored the winning touchdown between McMinn and Etowah High School in 1951. It was the 1st win for Etowah High against McMinn in 7 years.

Survivors include; son, Dirk Weber of Etowah, sister; Patsy Weber Burger of Englewood, sister-in-law; McRae Williams of Athens, granddaughter and spouse; Julie Branigan Young-Kross (Andrew) of Athens, Step- daughter; Jacqueline Bell of Madisonville, step-sons and wife; Jim Cross of Cleveland and John Cross (Phaiy) of Thailand, Niece; Monica Masingale of Englewood, and many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Green Hill Cemetery. Everyone is invited to attend. Rev. Guinn Green will officiate. There will be no formal visitation.
