Bonnie Mildred Marshall Brown, 96, a resident of Etowah Health Care Center, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Woods Memorial Hospital. Born May 22, 1915, in Englewood, she was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Englewood and graduated from Englewood School in 1934. She married Harry Brown in Englewood on July 7, 1935. They were married 54 years when Harry passed in 1989. She spent many years teaching children in Sunday school and helped to start several vacation bible schools in the area. She enjoyed traveling, reading, music and playing the piano. A daughter of the late Earnest F. and Inez Marshall, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Brown. Survivors include one son, Harry M. "Tippy" Brown of Englewood; one granddaughter and her husband, Bonnie Jean and Michael Falk of Englewood; one sister, Mary Marshall of Tampa, Fla.; one great-grandson and his wife, Bill and Andrea Derby of Madisonville; one great-granddaughter and her husband, Sara and Jeff Graham of Athens; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and cousins. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Sunrise Cemetery with Brother Byron Gibson officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
