Brenda Poteet Staton, 67 of Riceville, TN passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018.

She was a daughter of the late Harvey Poteet and Ruth Blackwell Poteet. She attended Burdette Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her sister, Linda Poteet Staton; brothers, Billy Massingill and Joe Blackwell; and step-daughter, Tammy Barnwell.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Douglas M. Staton of Riceville; brothers, Jerry "Peewee" Poteet of Cleveland, TN and Donald Poteet of Jacksonville, AR; nephew, James Staton and wife Amber and their children, Jasper Staton and Audrey Staton; step-grandchildren, other nieces and nephews, and a host of other extended family and friends.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. James Staton officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 12, 2018 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.
