Buddy Phillip Holland Mitchell, 48, of Englewood passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015 at his residence. He was born June 12th 1967 in Woods Memorial Hospital of Etowah to Phil Stanley Mitchell and Phyllis Brock Mitchell; He was a fifth generation child. Preceded in death by his father, Phil Stanley Mitchell; maternal grandparents, Budd J. and Marie Brooks Brock; paternal grandparents, Annie Mitchell and Stanley L. Mitchell; two uncles, Nicky Mitchell and Keith Mitchell; aunt, Joanne Mitchell Snyder; brother-in-law, Randy Burris;
Survivors include Valerie Mitchell; daughter and son-in-law, Kayla Mitchell and Jesus Loredo; son, Brock Mitchell; his mother, Phyllis Mitchell; sister and brother-in-law, Andy and Debbie Middleton, sister, Angela Mitchell; sister-in-law, Teresa Burris; mother-in-law, Verda Sneed; niece, Sidnie Smith; 2 nephews, Philip McConkey and Charles Gent Smith; 2 granddaughters, Ariel and Rhiannon Loredo; aunt and uncle, Ivan and Peggy Mitchell Snyder; several cousins and many friends.
Buddy excelled in high school winning the National Auto Mechanics award and achieving Eagle Scout Status when a boy scout. He worked many years at Textron in Athens. He was a member of 1st Christian church in Etowah.
Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Minister Louis Rouse officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Sunrise Cemetery Thursday, December 3, 2015 for the 11:00 a.m., committal service.
