Burkette E. Swafford Sr., age 88 of Calhoun, TN, went home to be with the Lord on December 22, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents: Hezekiah and Ida Belle Swafford; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include wife of 58 years: Betty Jo Swafford; son and daughter-in-law Edward "Eddie" and Erika Swafford; daughter and son-in-law: Ellen and George Hamilton; grandchildren: George and Jonathan Hamilton, Amanda Nevins and husband Matt; great-grandchildren: Ciarra, Brianna and Aaron Hamilton, Emma, Timothy, Ava and Ayden Nevins; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home. The family will proceed to Meadow Fork Baptist Church Cemetery for the committal service.
