Carol June Newman, 59, of Riceville, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at her residence. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. A native of Etowah, she was the former owner of Classy Canines and was preceded in death by her father, James Edward Glass. Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Wayne Lewis Newman Jr. of Riceville; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Stacy Lowe and Chris and Tabitha Lowe, all of Athens; her mother, Carolyn Peck Glass of Etowah; two grandchildren, Madison and Makayla Lowe; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeff and Pam Glass and Scott and Selina Glass, all of Ooltewah; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and a host of friends. Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Friday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Minister Louis Rouse officiating.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
