Catherine "Gladys" Bishop Burris, 81, of Etowah, TN passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Willow Acres Assisted Living. A daughter of the late Doug and Bertie Mae Bishop. Preceded in death her husband, Carlos Taylor Burris; granddaughter, Kayla Burris; parents, listed above; brothers, Carlos Bishop, Spense Bishop, Doss Bishop, W.D. Bishop and Johnny Bishop; sister, Nina Pearl Cade.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Ellen Burris of Athens, TN, Ricky and Loraine Burris of Englewood, TN; grandchildren and spouses, Nigel and Lela Burris, Ian and Tasha Burris, Nathan Minge, Daniella and Johnathan Garcia; 3 great-grandchildren, Noah Warf, Kendra and Jacob Byers; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Wilson of Etowah, TN, Jimmie and Bart Knox of Athens, TN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Melinda Bishop of Cuthbert, GA, Tommy and Linda Bishop of Athens, TN.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Elkins officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Double Springs Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.

Todd Bishop, Nathan Minge, Bobby Rodrick, Larry Lofland, Billy Brock and Claytor Billingsley will serve as pallbearers.
