Cebue Eaves Firestone, 92, of Benton, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Etowah Health Care Center. A lifelong resident of Polk County, she was a member of Chestuee Baptist Church. A daughter of the late Robert and Sally Haulk Eaves, she was preceded in death by her husband, S.G. Firestone; two daughters, Geneva Melton and Janice Armstrong; and two sisters, Vesta Pruitt and Reba Duggan.Survivors include seven sons and five daughters-in-law, Harold and Betty Firestone of Delano, J.P. "Pete" Firestone of Benton, Wilbur and Imogene Firestone of Athens, Boyd and Martha Firestone of Calhoun, Sammy Firestone of Delano, and Hoyt and Karen Firestone and Gilbert and Bobby Firestone, all of Calhoun; one sister, Viva Moore of Chattanooga; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Jasper Woody, the Rev. Gary Moates and the Rev Harold Firestone officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home and will proceed to Chestuee Baptist Church Cemetery for the 10 a.m. burial with grandchildren serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
