Obituary

Charles K. Campbell, 78, of Calhoun, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Skyridge Medical Center in Cleveland. A son of the late J.D. and Fannie Stewart Campbell, he was a native of McMinn County, resident of Polk County for most of his life, and resident of Calhoun for the past 4 years. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Benton. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Scottish Rite, and past Master of Ocoee Lodge #212 in Polk County. He was a judge in Polk County for 8 years, and was part owner of J.D. Campbell and Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brian Thomas Campbell. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Campbell of Calhoun; one daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Buck Ledford of Calhoun; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bruce Campbell of Eugene, Oregon and Mark and Elaine Campbell of Benton; four sisters, Ruby Payne, Betty Beard, Daphne Milen and Linda Culpepper, all of Benton; two brothers, Roy Campbell of Benton and Bud Campbell of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Lori, Charlie, Chloe and Willie; and two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Kingston.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010 in the South Chapel with Rev. Robbie Speight officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to Happy Hearts at First Baptist Church, PO Box 326, Benton, TN 37307.
