Charles Howard Coleman, 74, of Athens, died Friday, July 13, 2012, at Life Care Center of Athens.A native of Polk County, he was a member of Athens Church of Christ. He was a 32nd degree Mason with Etowah Masonic Lodge 653 and was a member of the Alhambra Shriners of Chattanooga.A son of the late John Milton and Ora Lee Mashburn Coleman, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Nichols and Anna Belle Coleman; and one brother, Robert Coleman.Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Eva Sue Williams Coleman of Athens; his very caring and loving family: two sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma and Glenn Trusley and Dorothy and Gene Perry, all of Etowah; one brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Brenda Coleman of Tampa, Fla.; two nephews, Mike Nichols of Niota, and Alan Perry of Etowah; and a host of friends.Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Hatcher and Minister Travis Irwin officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday, and will proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 11 a.m. burial with military Honors.Pallbearers will be J.B. Haney, Scott Thompson, Dale Hammons, Danny Jones, Dean Tullock, Rick Cornett, Jimmy Johnson and David Guy.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
