Charles Gowin, age 83 of Englewood, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019. He was in the Navy Seabees who served in the Korean War. Charles was an avid gunsmith, woodworker, and animal lover. He always had a big heart who loved his family. Charles was always a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Burger Gowin; son, Mike Gowin; grandsons, Noah and Jacob Gowin; parents, Wilks and Louise Gowin; and brother, Patrick Gowin.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Patty and Larry Shelton and Nanette Moses; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Pam Gowin; grandchildren, Kati Hurst, Alex Martin, Kendra Swaggerty, Brooke Bratta, Kristin Gowin, Megan VanBenschoten, Erin Hottinger, and Seth Moses; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2019 in the south chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., Monday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Sunrise Cemetery Tuesday, February 5, 2019 for the 11:00 a.m. committal service with Military Honors.
