Charles B. Jamerson, 90, of Etowah, passed away peacefully to go be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Life Care Center of Athens. A lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Ruel T. and America Allman Jamerson. He was a World War II veteran, and was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Yates Jamerson; three sons, Larry, Billy and Wayne Jamerson; one daughter, Betty Jean Jamerson; four sisters, Nora Lee and Willie Jamerson, Iva Rhea Carter and Molly Buckner; and one infant great-grandchild, Caleb Jamerson. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and Lewis Partain and Janice and Kenny Rymer, all of Athens; two sons, David Jamerson and Jerry Jamerson, both of Etowah; one sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Babe Buckner of Etowah; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a special pet, "Dixie." Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Friday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Triplett officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday and will proceed to Conasauga Cemetery for the 11 a.m. burial with military rights. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
