Charlie Harris, born on January 29, 1949, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, devotion, and a deep passion for family and cherished pursuits. Known for his unwavering love of NASCAR and a particular admiration for Dale Earnhardt, Charlie's enthusiasm for racing was matched only by the joy he found in spending his summers at Windrock, where he delighted in camping and riding the trails amidst the beauty of nature.

A man who treasured family above all else, Charlie was the heart of many gatherings, especially his beloved annual Easter celebration, which brought loved ones together year after year. His affection for his grandchildren was evident in every smile and shared moment, and his hands found contentment in restoring and working on classic cars, preserving a piece of history with care and dedication.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Louise Harris, who stood as his steadfast partner through life's journey. His cherished sons, Chris Harris, Michael Hancock and spouse Jamie, and Gary Hancock. He was a devoted grandfather to Cody Harris and fiancé Kaitlyn Heifner; Melinda Scott and significant other Caleb Crosslin; Robin Stallings and spouse Zach; Ciara Harris and significant other Ian Bass; Savannah Hancock; Bailey Dillard; Madison Day; and Tyler Hancock; 11 great-grandchildren who her loved dearly. He is also remembered fondly by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Jerald Kilby of Tellico Plains, TN; Alene of Loganville, GA; Bonnita Newman and Mitch Martino of Etowah, TN; Jewel and Terry Wallace of Trenton, GA; and Tammie and Dickie McConkey of Tellico Plains, TN; sister-in-law, Janet and John McDaniel of Tellico Plains, TN; Redena Harris of Madisonville, TN; brothers and sisters-in-law Amos and Ulene Harris of Madisonville, TN; Ardell and Mary Harris of Etowah, TN; and Darrell and Shonna Harris of Englewood, TN. Several nieces, nephews, many extended family members, and lifelong friends.

Charlie was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Brian Harris; his parents, John and Birtha Harris; his sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Carl Lichlyter; and brothers Merle Harris, Herman Harris, John Harris, Jr., David Harris, Kenneth Harris, and Carl Harris; brother-in-law, Rex Jones. Their memories remain cherished within the fabric of his life story.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28 at Bordwine Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 29 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Adam Jones officiating.

The interment will follow in Eleazar Cemetery.
