Clay "Slim Jim" Tackett, 81, of Athens, TN, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021. He was truck driver for more than 57 years with Admiral Merchants. During his time with Admiral Merchants, he was presented the "million miles on the road" award. Clay was a Mason with his local Masonic lodge. He lived life to the fullest and cherished his loving family.

Preceded in death by his father, Luther Tackett; one sister, Faye McKamey; three brothers, Ray Tackett, Larry Tackett, and Edward Tackett.

He is survived by his mother, Ella McGhee Tackett; loving wife, Glenda Morrow Tackett; three daughters, Susan Peebles (Byron), Rebecca Ray (Mike), and Julie Hawn (Tony); two sons, Eddie Tackett (Jennifer) and Jason Tackett; eleven grandchildren, Ali Rayburn, Ashton Tackett, Lacey Massengil, Indeia Tackett, Tasia Tackett, Chandler Ray (Brooke), Will Ray, Kansas Casteel, Savana Casteel, Ethan Tackett, and Eric Tackett; two great-grand children, Bailey Massengil and Bree Massengil; one soon to be third great-grandchild; one brother, Laymond Tackett (Dana); one sister, Della Kitts (Ronnie).

No formal services will be held.
