Curtis Clyde "Babe" Buckner, age86of Etowah, TNpassed away peacefully Saturday, April 25, 2015at his grandson Alan's home in Sweetwater with his son Melvin, grandson Alan and wife Stephanie nearby.

He worked at Blocksom in Etowah, Magic Chef in Cleveland and the Forestry Service. Babewas the son of the late Joe and Ida Land Buckner. He was preceded in deathby his parents, wife, Lucille Frances Buckner, two sons, Jeffery Lynn Buckner and Douglas Michael Buckner, four sisters, Cordia Tucker, Donnie and Rachel Buckner and Ellie Casteel, four brothers, Lewis "Buck", Lonnie, Ed and Robert Buckner.

Babe was very well known for his coon dogs and coon hunting. He was a very loving and caring man who loved his family and treated friends like family. He never saw a stranger and was always ready to put a smile on someone's face.

Survivors include his son and two daughters-in-law,Melvin and Debbie Buckner ofCleveland, TN, andBarbara Shaffer ofSweetwater, TN;grandchildren and their spouses,Debra Robinet,Susie and Myke Svedberg,Alan and Stephanie Buckner,Curtis Buckner,Mitchell Buckner,Tonya and David Shoemaker,Jennifer and Joey Oliver, andBeth and Nick Jones;8 great-grandchildren;5 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law,Patsy Buckner ofOoltewah, TN, and several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2015 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home withRev. Jack Bryan officiating. Thefamily will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday prior to the service.Family and friends will assemble at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the funeral home and proceed to Conasauga Cemetery for the 10:00 a.m. committal service.

The family would like to thank Sweetwater Hospital Home Health for the special care that was given to the Buckner family during Babe's illness and also caregivers Alan and Stephanie and several others.
