Daisy Verlene Moses, 83, of Englewood, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at her son's residence. A member of the First Church of God, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Callie Tipton and was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William Harl Moses; one son, Billy Moses; and two brothers, Melvin Morrow and R.S. Tipton. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Martha Jane and Sandy Jackson of Etowah, and Cathy Wilson of Athens; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mike and Rosemary Moses of Charleston, and Terry Moses of Englewood; seven grandchildren, Jesse, Dana, Carol, Casey, Kayla, Will and Jeffrey; three great-grandchildren, Anthony, Hailey and Allyson; one sister, Joyce Martin; and a special friend, Lorene Duncan. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Chism officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Thursday and will proceed to New Bethel Cemetery in Monroe County for the 11 a.m. burial. Pallbearers will be Mike Moses, Terry Moses, Jesse Bookout, Will Davis, Jeffrey Mason, Anthony Bookout and Vince Crabtree. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
