Dan "Crow" Allen Rayburn, 81 of Etowah, TN went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday March 15, 2020.

He was a son of the late Horace and Mary Rayburn.

Dan was a member of North Etowah Baptist Church where he served in many capacities as a bus driver, Sunday school teacher and deacon. He retired after 40 years as a clerk for L&N/CSX Railroad.

Preceded in death by his wife, Trudy Sparks Rayburn.

He loved the Lord, his family and was a loyal friend. Dan loved Etowah and the railroad. He was a great story teller, having many stories always involving railroading and his youth in Etowah. Dan was a generous man-always having extra to share with anyone who came by. Often, he would have his wife to make an extra plate to share with his beloved co-workers. He displayed soft, unassuming acts of kindness, never for attention- that's just who he was.

Survivors include his 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Greg Hovater; Dana and Hunter Peterson; grandson, Jesse Holden; Wyatt Holden

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2020 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Dennis Bordwine officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Green Hill Cemetery Thursday, March 19 ^th for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
