David Mark McKenzie, 49, of Etowah, TN, formerly of Englewood, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023.

He is the son of Mike and Patricia McKenzie of Etowah. He was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church in Reliance and a graduate of McMinn Central High School.

Mark was the class clown and was always full of laughter while aggravating his most special friends. He was an avid fan of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide and enjoyed the rivalry with the UT Vols. He spent time on the golf course and in pool tournaments. As much as he enjoyed his hobbies, he most loved the time he spent with his faithful dog, Jack.

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Buster and Maysie (Ervin) Lindner, Wm. Austin and Mazel (Tilley) McKenzie; aunt, Mary (Lindner) Martin; uncles, (infant) Jonny McKenzie, James Daniel; best friend, Trampus Land.

Survivors include his parents, Mike and Patricia (Lindner) McKenzie; aunts, Darlene (Roberts) Daniel, Tena (Michael) Elkins, Susan Herndon; uncles, Johnny Lindner, Jim (Debra) McKenzie, and Gary Martin; and numerous cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 17, 2023, in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Vernon Webb and B.J. Wall officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday prior to the service.
