David "Dave" Thomas Clark, 77, passed away at his residence in Etowah on Sunday, May 28, 2017. He was born in Mitcham, South London, England on October 2, 1939.
David owned his own plumbing and construction firm (W.W. Clark & Sons) in England with his brother Ken for 35 years. He completely reconstructed his own 1789 Historic Home (Listed Building) in England. In Sept. 1994, he emigrated to Etowah where he continued to be a self employed plumber. He loved the Mountains and peaceful life of East Tennessee, and enjoyed his grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Walter William Clark and Sarah Ann "Rose" Clark; two brothers, Kenneth and John Clark, all of London, England.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Amelia May Clark of Etowah; two daughters, Debra Clendenen and her husband Douglas of Athens, TN and Sonia Browne and her husband Tony of London, England; two grandsons, David and Matthew Clendenen of Chattanooga, TN and two granddaughters, Caitlin and Molly Browne of London, England; one sister, Janet Shelley and her late husband Alan of England.
Family and Friends are invited to the Memorial Service on Tuesday, June 6th at 6.00 p.m. with service officiated by Pastor Jack Bryan at 6:30 p.m. at Bordwine Funeral Home in Etowah. David was cremated on May 30, 2017. Half of his ashes will be scattered in both USA and England at private family ceremonies.
