Obituary

Deborah Moore Aly, 52, of Etowah, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 14, 2011 at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of Elizabeth and the late John W. Moore. She was a member of Mt. Verd Baptist Church where she was active with the WMU, Sunday School, Vacation Bible Schools, and had written and directed the annual Easter drama for several years before her illness. She had a love for people and the church, and doing things for others. Two of her most loved people are her pastor, Rev. Donnie Dalton and his wife Pam.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years as of Jan. 9th, Jacky G. Aly of Etowah; one daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Steven Wilmot of Hurricane, W. Virginia; one son, Joshua Aly of Etowah; her mother, Elizabeth Moore of Cleveland; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gertrude Anna and Cecil Morgan of Cleveland, and Helen and Dwight Charles of Decatur; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Dee Moore of Athens, and Tracey and Teresa Moore of Fayetteville, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2011 in the South Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at Conasauga Cemetery at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18th for the committal service.
