Delbert Ernest Smith, 74 of Etowah, TN passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at his residence. A son of the late Rev. Ernest Gene and Geneva Lou Thompson Smith. He was a member of Meadow Fork Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob and Grady Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Narvelene Smith; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Wooten, Larry Smith, Frazier and Sarah Steele Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jeff Swafford; grandchildren and spouses, Kaylee and Ryan Williams, Michael and Katrina Wooten, Jonny and LeeAnna Wooten, Shannon Nichols, Kristen Nichols, Jessica Swafford, Zane Swafford, Levi Smith, Ryan Smith, Alyssa Smith and Angel Smith; great-grandchildren, Hayden Lowery, Elizabeth Tallent, Cadence Wooten, Gabriel "Gabe" Wooten, Jacob "Jakey" Wooten, Belle Wooten, Finley Williams and Colten Wooten; sisters-in-law, Evie Smith and JoAnn Smith.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2018 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Harris and Rev. John Harris officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home and proceed to Etowah Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
