Derward "D.O." Crockett age 83 of Etowah, TN passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at Starr Regional Medical Center of Athens, TN. He is the son of the late David and Ada Mae Crockett, Sr., was a member of Goodsprings Baptist Church and the owner and general contractor ofCrockett and Son Construction for many years. He is preceded in death by his parents, listed above; brothers, David Jr., Troy, and Herbert Crockett; and sisters, Pauline Melton and Sue Crockett.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen L. Crockett of Etowah, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy C. and John Upchurch; son and daughter-in-law, Patrick David and Linda Crockett; granddaughter and spouse, Shelby M. and Coty Morrow; sisters, Mae Crockett and Sharon Coltharp; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Thomas and Rev. Arnold King officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m., to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday prior to the service. The committal service will follow at Goodsrpings Cemetery.
