Dixie Cook, 68, of Englewood, died Saturday, September 11, 2010 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville. A native of Maryville and resident of McMinn County all of her life, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Geneva Burger Cook. She was a member of North Englewood Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for the 4 to 7 year old children's class. She was retired from Walmart after 22 years of employment. Survivors include her husband, Paul "Buck" Cook, Jr. of Englewood; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Frank Kemp of Mississippi; three sons, Keith Cook, Mark Cook, and Stephen Cook, all of Englewood; four brothers, Henry Cook and Jerry "Pap" Cook, both of Englewood, Terry Cook of S. Carolina, and Mike Cook of Pennsylvania; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2010 in the South Chapel with the Rev. Doug Coleman and the Rev. Benny Goodman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2010 and proceed to Sunrise Cemetery for the 11 a.m. committal service. Ryan Cook, Jerred Sullivan, Alan Cook, Dan Cook, Walt Shoffitt and Richard Roberson will serve as pallbearers.
