Dolly Lee Martin, 75, a lifelong resident of Englewood, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at her home surrounded by her children. A daughter of the late Howard and Alice Hipps, she attended Victory House of Prayer in Athens. She was retired from the McMinn County Board of Education, serving 30 years as a cook at Englewood Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert Martin. She was a dedicated Christian who loved living for the Lord and shard her faith with everyone around her. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger Dale and Cindy Martin and James Ronald and Patricia Martin, all of Englewood; one daughter, Roberta Lee Martin of Englewood; two granddaughters and one spouse, Christy and Nathan Perry and Kelly Martin; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Margie Harris and Glenda and Joe Harris; two brothers and one sister-in-law, B.L. and Carolyn Hipps and Danny Hipps; several other relatives, nieces, nephews and many friends; and special Hospice friends, Stephanie Newman and Kathy Rhea. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Mitchell James officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and will proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 2 p.m. burial. Pallbearers will be Dale Holbrook, Ronnie Fain, Dewayne Lee, Nathan Perry, John Cockrell and Manuel Brady. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
