Donald Moates, 76, of Etowah, TN passed away peacefully on Friday, December 23, 2022, beside the love of his life, Lee Ann, and surrounded by his family.

We will never know the number of lives he touched.

He never stopped working for his family, the union, a stranger on the street, the world. To make everyone feel loved. Don loved gardening and he would have fed the world if he could. He always chose compassion and it wasn't a choice he had to make.

How blessed are we to have been be a part of his life and orbit.

Preceded in death by his parents, Lena Ruth Grant and Herbert Moates; brother, Daniel Moates; twin brother, Gerald Moates; brother-in-law, Walter Younce.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lee Ann Moates; children and spouses, Mary Moates and Jordan Tarwater; William Moates, Tim Moates; daughter-in-love, Kari Moates; three grandchildren, Jacob Moates, Katherine Moates, Willow Moates; sister, Nancy Younce; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022 at St. Therese of Lisieux Cleveland, TN with Father Michael Nolan officiating.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.
