Donald E. Pangle, 76, of Etowah, died Friday, August 13, 2010 at Woods Memorial Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Etowah, he was a son of the late James and Sally Elliott Pangle. He was retired from Bowater Southern Paper Corporation after 25 years of service, and attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Pangle; a daughter, Darlene Pangle; and nine brothers and sisters. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Mike Wilson of Etowah; one son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Jeana Pangle of Etowah; grandchildren, Angelina Shonk, Zachary Wilson and wife Megan, Shaun Wilson, Ben Wilson, Tricia Pangle, Alexander Pangle, Dianna Pangle and William Pangle; a special nephew, Mike Poteet; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2010 in the South Chapel with the Rev. Aaron Pierce and Layspeaker Charles Rayburn officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday prior to the service.
Family and friends will assemble at Etowah Cemetery at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 17th for the committal service.
