Donald Jerome Schreck age 73 of Englewood, TN, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at his home surrounded by his wife and children. Donald served in the United States Navy on a nuclear submarine as a missile tech from 1962 to 1969. He was proud to be a plankowner on the USS Nathanael Greene and treasures the friendships made during that time in his life. After leaving the Navy he worked for CSX railroad for 33 years from 1971 to 2004.
Donald is preceded in death by mother: Geneva Duff King and step-father: William "Bill" King; sister: Deloris "Dodie" Haney; nephew: Brian "Skeets" Haney; niece: Ali Marie Schreck; paternal grandparents Pauline and Jacob Schreck; maternal grandparents: Thomas and Mary Alice Duff.
Survivors include wife of 40 years: Becki Schreck; 3 children: Amy Schreck Cook, Neely Schreck Ingram, Chris Schreck and beloved daughter-in-law Liz Schreck; 4 grandchildren: Noah Cook, Chance Ingram, Jackson Schreck, Caroline Schreck; brother: Eddie Schreck; sister: Ruthie Sinclair; mother-in-law: Jessie Gunter; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Janice and Bob Roseberry; 4 beloved nieces: Lauren and husband Tony Fox, Jessica Roseberry, Leah Willis, Binky Woods; 1 nephew: David Schreck; 2 life-long friends: Tommy Joines of Etowah and Rick Luell of Wisconsin.
Funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Minister Mike Williams officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. Interment will follow service at New Zion Cemetery.
Josh McNutt, Chad Slack, Christopher Swafford, Chad Starkey, Chris Thurman and Abe Aziz will serve as pallbearers.
