A son of the late Monroe and Ina Wilcox Shelton, he was preceded in death by infant brothers and sister, Harvey, Margie and Norman Shelton; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Cleetis and Wanda Goforth Shelton and James Shelton.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Hazel Ward Shelton of Etowah; two daughters, Linda Davis of Englewood, Wanda Stiner and her husband, Buddy, of Whitesburg; grandchildren, Raymond Davis of Etowah, Alex Stiner, Eric Stiner and Josh Stiner and his wife, Jennifer, all of Whitesburg; one great-grandson, Jacob Davis and his wife, Dana, and their daughters, Tinley and Kytalin, all of Englewood; one great-granddaughter, Jordan McPhail of Athens; one brother and sister-in-law, Winston and Irene Wilcox Shelton of Wetmore; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy Shelton and Steve Hawkins and Carolyn Shelton and Jerry Croft, all of Wetmore; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Doyle Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in Delano Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
