Donnie Dean, 78, of Etowah, passed from death unto life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Woods Memorial Hospital. A native of McMinn County and a resident of Etowah for most of her life, she was retired from Mills Products and was a member of Stephensville Baptist Church. A daughter of the late Lonzo and Ada Whitner, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dean; one son, Mikey Dean; two sisters, Anna Lou Dispain and Dorthy Hutchison; and two brothers, Wilburn and Andrew Whitner. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Richard Spakosky of Etowah, and Janice and Jim Spakosky of Englewood; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dennis and Betty Dean of Englewood, and Marvin Dean of Etowah; one sister, Effie Sue Cardin of Decatur; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Conasauga Cemetery with the Rev. James Morgan officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
