Dorothy Thompson Duckett Huffman, age 88, of Etowah, TN, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at McMinn Memorial Nursing Home. She was a daughter of the late Henry Press and Daisy Duggan Thompson. A member of First Baptist Church, Etowah, and a resident of Etowah, since 1977. Preceded in death by her husbands, Killian W. Duckett and Clyde Huffman; 1 brother, Loman Thompson; and 1 sister, Jo Bates. Dorothy loved flowers and always had a garden, avid quilter and loved to travel. She said, "Her greatest gifts in life were her grandchildren." Survivors include, Daughter and Son-in-law, Killeen and Ed Armstrong of Etowah, TN; 2 grandchildren, Kody D. Armstrong, of Sassebo, Japan and Ashley K. Armstrong of Etowah; 2 sisters and 1 brother-in-law, Ann and Jim Goins of Cleveland, TN and Trulah Taylor; Special sister-in-law, Odessa Duckett of Tellico Plains, TN; Several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Maple Springs Cemetery, in Tellico Plains TN, with Rev. Oscar Cummings officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
