Edgar Eugene Best, 80, of Madisonville, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at East TN Health Care Facility in Madisonville, TN.A son of the late Robert Best and Ethel Hanzel, and he was preceded in death by his wife, Etheleen Best; his father and wife, Robert and Thelma Best; his mother and husband, Ethel and Joe Hanzel and sister, Ima Sue Bivens. Survivors include sons and wife, Michael and Rachel Best and Dennis Best; daughter and husband, Susan and Don Guffey; grandchildren, Dana Davis, Kristopher Best, Destiny Wood, Coltin Best, Doug Guffey, and Daniel Guffey; great-grandchildren, Samuel Guffey, Isaac Guffey, Titus Guffey, Tinley Davis and Kytalin Davis; brother, Clinton Best; sister, Ollie Potter; special nieces and nephew, James and Ruby Parks; and great-niece, Angelia Parks.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2013 at Eleazar Cemetery with military honors.Rev. Jackie Holcomb will officiate. Coltin Best, Cody McFarland, David McFarland, Bill Bearfield, James Parks and Don Guffey will serve as pallbearers.
