Obituary

Edna Lou Shadden Davis, 92, of Englewood, died Monday, November 29, 2010 at Etowah Health Care Center.

A native of Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late John Hubert and Viola Moses Shadden. She was a faithful and active member of Wildwood Baptist Church until experiencing failing health. She served with the Women's Mission Union, served as a Sunday School teacher and a Bible School teacher. She was an humble and faithful servant of her Lord.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James Herschel and Glenda Davis of LaFayette, Ga.; one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and William H. Johnson of Englewood; grandchildren, Jannah Mull, Jamie Hammonds, LeAnn Hammonds, Bradley Johnson, Ellen Barski, Laurel Hanna and Alicia Porterfield; 12 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Bobbie Johnson; and sisters-in-law, Ruby Cockrell, Elsie McGinnis, Juanita Davis and Bea Shadden.

Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010 in the South Chapel with the Rev. Stan Hammonds, the Rev. Eric Porterfield and the Rev. Alicia Porterfield officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 1st and proceed to Wildwood Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11 a.m. committal service. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah in charge of arrangements.
