Eldie Lynn Dickey, Jr., 92, of Etowah, TN passed away Monday, January 29, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eldie Lynn Sr. and Margaret Wittenberg Dickey; wife, Norma Hayes Dickey.

Eldie was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Etowah. He loved hiking and traveling. Eldie started his educational career at Ingleside School and retired from Tennessee College of Applied Technology of Athens. He served in the United States Army, then retired from the United States Air Force Reserves.

He is survived by his two daughters and son-in-law, Jeannie Dickey, Nancy Dickey Blackwood and Vaden; grandchildren and spouses, Dr. Georgia Blackwood Kubic and Andy, George and Amada Blackwood, Scott Blackwood, C. Hayes Blackwood and Chelsea Kwoka, and Jeannie Blackwood; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Florrie Dickey Elmgren.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Etowah with Pastor Allan Lovelace officiating.

Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church.

Interment will follow the service in Etowah Cemetery.
