Elizabeth "Liz" Carroll, age 88, of Delano, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026. Born on October 7, 1937, in Reliance, Tennessee, Liz embraced a life filled with love, family, and faith. Throughout her years, she was known for her generous spirit, warm smile, and an unwavering dedication to those dear to her.
Liz was a devoted member of Hiwassee Union Baptist Church, where her faith formed the cornerstone of her life. She cherished her time spent in the community, often sharing her joys with others. Liz was also an avid Bingo player during her time at Dominion Senior Living, where she earned the affectionate title of "Bingo Queen" among family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Milburn "Buster" Carroll, and their daughter, Cindy Jones. Also preceding her in death are her grandson, Justin Jones, her parents, Hoyal and Beulah Merrell, and her sisters, Oleta Burchfield, Anita Lee, Willonell Greene, Vondell Morgan, and Mary Lewis.
Liz is survived by her son Danny Carroll and daughter-in-law Donna Carroll; grandsons Travis Carroll and his wife Megan, and Barry Carroll and his wife Sarah; as well as her treasured great-grandchildren Luke Carroll, Lane Carroll, Brady Carroll, and Sadie Carroll. In addition, she leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss her presence.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Tuesday prior to the service.
Interment will follow the service at Green Hill Cemetery.
Travis Carroll, Barry Carroll, Luke Carroll, Lane Carroll, Brady Carroll, and Cicero Carroll will serve at pallbearers.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff and caretakers at Dominion Senior Living, as well as to those at Starr Regional Health and Rehab, for their compassionate care during her later years. Liz Carroll’s legacy of love and kindness will remain forever etched in the hearts of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Tennessee Baptist Children's Home in Chattanooga at 6623 Lee Hwy Chattanooga, TN 37421.
